Story is great, I've only played through once (despite my hours, I tend to afk) but already I can tell the replay value is great. It's definitely spooky but I will say I expected more "struggling" moments after the first chapter and they never really came (at least in the route that I took). I'd say the game value exceeds the price tag.. I LOVED this game. The price is a hell of a deal even for a single play through- mine took me 23 hours and I'm a very fast reader. The fact that there's countless other routes I can take makes the replay value impressive. The story itself was surprisingly well written and the characters were fleshed out. I look forward to playing it again to try and deviate from the direction I went in this first time- it seems like the story can change drastically depending on the decisions.. Strongly recommend if you like horror and slice of life. The playable characters are all in their mid twenties to early thirties, and most of them were extremely relatable to me, as I'm also in that age range. The game hits all the right notes when it needs to- scary, emotional, relaxing, funny. The writing and delivery are amazing.I got a lot of replayablility out of this game, as it tells you how many endings you got and how many you have yet to unlock. I played through it many times just to see what would happen, and to explore which decisions trigger what reactions. The skipping feature makes this very convenient so that you don't have to read the same text again. The only con I can think of is that at times the game is rough around the edges- at the final chapter, in particular, a few lines are missing voice overs, and there are a few minor grammar mistakes. Rarely, the facial expressions of the character sprites don't quite match the emotion of the voice-over or the text. Given the scope of the writing in the game and the overall quality, I'm inclined to forgive these mistakes.. Love this game. I haven't finished the game yet but I can say that this is a good game.. I don't always remember a game, but then there are games like The Letter which leave me absolutely spellbound. I purchased this game to stream on Twitch as my community knows me for my visual novel. It sat in my steam library untouched for far too long. The first night I played it, I dreamed of it, and wanted my happy ending. With such expansive plot, we could only afford one play through. Especially for such an underrated game on Twitch. What few viewers I had were mortified at our desired ending's result. What you want, isn't always what you wanted, and everything that's happy might be wrong and the Letter will keep you guessing at every turn. I've never had such a thrilling believable friendship between two people. The dialogue can be slightly awkward at times until you realise the dynamic, but it's believably immersive at times. It felt like watching my friends talk.10\/10. I wish I'd played it earlier, and I'm going to keep playing no matter how much it scares me.. The Letter is a good medium - long length visual novel. One play through took me about 22 hours which would usually come from a much more expensive VN. With how heavily the plot branches trying to 100% the game would take quite a bit even with skipping previously read text. I'd say that choices matter is probably a valid tag to add. I enjoyed the story and the characters much.As a horror story make of it what you will. I don't find the scares that significant but if you do, I'm sure you'll enjoy playing it in the dark. Where the story really shines is in dealing with the characters and their relationships. Quite often your actions will shift where the story goes and increasingly after Chapter 4 these begin to create quite a few possibilities derived from what has gone on before. Each character generally expresses a different perspective and many decisions are often viewed from at least two or three characters. I really love how the internal monologues differ so much, like the characters the represent. This especially bares fruit with Becca, Ash, and Luke's chapters in contrast to how they appear to others across the seven chapters. Horror varies, in many cases you can rest assured if it really happened to you: odds are a change of clothes would be required after. In contrast to things that are just read and seen, hehe. All in all I enjoyed it, largely because of its characters and their relationships. Being haunted, tormented, and potentially murdered by a ghost provides much to drive things forward. One of the mysteries we're left with is whether or not there will someday be a sequel. If there is I am likely to buy it.. This games story is amazing and had me gripped throughout, which for a visual novel is crucial. The choices and events have real impacts on the story going forward, unlike other games with that element. The game manages to scare the player effectively despite its lack of animations by using atmosphere and tension. It personally scared me more than any Triple A horror game has ever before, which is a amazing achievement for a visual novel. There are several grammar and spelling problems in the game that makes it harder to get into story, but even with those problems the game managed to hold my interest. I 100% recommend reading this just for the fact that so much effort went into this game and it shows.
